The Student Development and 大发体育,大发体育官网llness Coordinator (SDWC) contributes to the holistic vision for student success at Wabash by providing students with psychoeducation, wellness initiatives, educational programming, and other non-clinical supports.

The SDWC leads the efforts of the 大发体育,大发体育官网llness Council, a group of faculty, staff, and students which coordinates, develops, and implements student-focused wellness programming and resources. In that role, the SDWC will build relationships and alliances within all operational areas of the campus community. In addition to coordinating the diverse efforts of the 大发体育,大发体育官网llness Council, the SDWC will contribute to the mission of the Council by developing and teaching a life skills curriculum that includes, but is not limited to: stress management, emotional regulation, success coaching, resilience training, and coping skills.

The SDWC will train and coordinate a cohort of peer health educators who are force multipliers for wellness programming within the independent and fraternal living units. He/she will help implement JED 大发体育,大发体育官网, will work directly with student-led peer health groups such as Mental Health Concerns, Wabash Acts Responsibly, and the Public Health Organization, and will provide gatekeeper training such as QPR and You Can Help a Friend to students, faculty, and staff.

The Student Development and 大发体育,大发体育官网llness Coordinator reports directly to the Dean of Students, but is expected also to work in close partnership with all members of the Student Life team, including Counseling Services, Health Services, Residence Life, Public Safety, and Student Activities.


  • Master’s degree (preferred) in Counseling, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field. Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with psychoeducation, health promotion and education, or related field.
  • Demonstrated appreciation for student development theory and a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student health and wellness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from historically under-served and/or marginalized communities.
  • Current understanding of confidentiality polices for both medical and counseling models; understanding of risk management and legal practices.
